This very large traditional village house is situated in the village of Polopos, (feautred in a "Spanish Homes" magazine) a fifteen minute drive to the coast. Ideal to get away from the crowds and live in unspoilt tranquil Mountain Village. The property has been maintained and modernized over recent years, but retaining all the original charm this large house offers. It is spread over four floors. The large double wooden doors lead into a lovely spacious reception hall. Off here there is access to the study area with window to the front elevation. Access through to a lovely size sitting room with original fireplace and window to the South, allowing the light to flood in. Another door leads through to the kitchen with a range of fully fitted units, space for a table and chairs for dining, again French doors lead out onto a lovely balcony/terrace area with space for al fresco dining. There is access to a utility/ WC room as well with space for washing machine and tumble dryer.
From the entrance hall a moorish style tiled staircase leads you to the first floor, here there is a boudoir with windows to the front of the property and giving access to the family bathroom and two double bedrooms, the master has access to a lovely breakfast balcony with wonderful views. The boudoir has access to another staircase leading up to a fantastic roof terrace with amazing views down to the sea and over the surrounding hills.
Back down to the entrance hall, a staircase leads to the lower ground floor, this has a large open plan room incorporating a sitting area, kitchen and dining space. There are also doors out onto the street at a lower level. There is also a childs bedroom, shower room and a double bedroom on this level. The property is a great family home, or could have an independent apartment for letting, massage, studio etc.

The traditional small mountain village of Polopos is 10 km behind the coastal town of La Mamola (in the Granada Province). It's high in the mountains -- elevation 750 m -- along a winding county road with SPECTACULAR views of the Mediterranean coastline... and surrounding countryside.
Polopos is just east of the cities of Motril and Almuñécar along the N-340 highway and about a one-hour drive from the cities of Granada and Almeria... a little further still from Malaga.
Polopos is easily accessible by the main highway as well as smaller rural roads. In the winter months the drive is gorgeous with the mountains blanketed in blossoming olive and almond trees.
The town itself is a very typical rural Andalusian village. It has the characteristic white-washed homes, small town square and an historic old church. Some of the streets are lined with walls that look like they date back to Roman times.
The main area of town is very small. A tree-lined winding road runs from the Sonrisa cafe, at the top of town, down to the main square.
There is another small cafe in the main square next to the church where you can stop and have a drink with the locals.
Polopos is also the name of the entire municipality in the eastern most part of the Costa Tropical that encompasses several different towns. Two of its towns are located right on the Mediterranean Sea... Castillo de Baños and La Mamola.
Haza del Lino, Haza del Trigo, La Guapa and the village of Polopos are further inland.
Over the last few months the little village of Polopos has become quite famous in the Netherlands. There is currently a very popular reality show being filmed there called "Het Spaanse Dorp: Polopos" on the RTL network. It is running 5 days a week with 40-minute episodes.
